Where it comes from
- Rajasthan known for growing India’s best cumin
- Cleaned and sorted, then ground here
Why low heat
- Cumin is almost entirely aroma — cuminaldehyde, which is volatile and heat-sensitive
- Industrial grinding destroys much of it before the powder is packed
- That’s why supermarket jeera powder tastes flat and you keep adding more
What’s not in it
- No ground grass seed
- No lookalike seeds from the same family, blended in because they cost less
- No charcoal or sawdust — used in tested samples to darken the colour, because darker reads as more roasted
How to use it
- Into the gravy, not the tadka (use whole seed for tadka)
- Raita, chaat, jeera aloo, marinades
- Half a teaspoon does what a full one did before
