Blends are where we are most careful, because a blend is where things get hidden.

A single spice can be checked. You can see the colour, smell it, send it to a lab. A jar with eleven things in it is harder to check, which is exactly why cheap blends get away with filler, old stock and borrowed colour. Most masala mixes in India are sold on the promise of convenience, and the convenience is real. So is the fact that nobody tells you what is actually in the packet.

So we make very few of them, and we tell you what goes in.

Every blend here starts from the same spices we sell on their own, stone ground slowly in Mainpuri by the women who work with us. Nothing is bought in ready-made. Nothing is added to bulk out the jar. If a blend contains our Lakadong haldi, it is the same Lakadong haldi you can buy separately and read the lab report for.

That makes our blends slower to make and more expensive than most. It also means you can check them, which is the whole point.
